MTM Hydro's Float Valves are meant for fixed installations that operate with the use of holding tanks. Since a pump only uses a small amount of water per minute compared to the volume that a standard city line can produce, filling these tanks can pose a problem without an automated shutoff valve. As the water level rises in your tank, the float valve hits the shutoff threshold and cuts the water.
Be sure to review the thread size and required components for proper install and remember, filters are a good thing so keep your tank clear of debris by using a filtered model of the float valve. See Part# 37.0005 for Replacement Float Valve Filters.
